I made a rug/floor mat/prayer mat from XPress, a weekly paper found in kiosks around Los Angeles. XPress is free in some places, and 25 cents unlocks the kiosk in other places (mostly having to do with proximity to children). The project was displayed in a gallery, and people were encouraged to write poems from the visible text. I wrote some too. The poems in response can be found on my blog:
